Hastelloy C22/C276 Forged Fittings

Hastelloy C22 forged fittings are used in piping systems exposed to aggressive chemicals, oxidising media and mixed acid environments where conventional stainless steel grades may not provide reliable corrosion resistance. This nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy is known for its resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, which makes it suitable for chemical processing, pollution control, pharmaceutical production and marine service applications. Hastelloy C22 forged fittings are commonly supplied in socket weld and threaded forms for corrosive process piping systems.

Hastelloy C276 Forged Fittings

Hastelloy C276 forged fittings are widely used in chemical processing plants, offshore installations, pollution control systems, marine applications and process piping exposed to corrosive acids, chlorides and oxidising chemicals. The alloy offers strong resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chemical attack across a wide range of service environments, which is why it is frequently selected for demanding process applications. Hastelloy C276 forged fittings are used in both high-pressure and corrosive service lines where material reliability is critical.

Difference Between Hastelloy C22 and Hastelloy C276 Forged Fittings

The main difference between Hastelloy C22 and Hastelloy C276 forged fittings lies in their corrosion performance across different chemical environments. Hastelloy C22 is often selected for strong resistance to oxidising chemicals and mixed process media, while Hastelloy C276 is widely used in reducing environments and severe corrosive service involving acids, chlorides and process chemicals. Both grades offer excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, but final material selection generally depends on the operating temperature, process fluid and service conditions of the piping system.

Applications of Hastelloy Forged Fittings

Hastelloy forged fittings are used in chemical processing plants, petrochemical facilities, offshore installations, pollution control systems, pharmaceutical plants, pulp and paper mills, pickling lines, marine systems and acid handling units. These fittings are commonly selected for piping systems carrying corrosive acids, chlorides, oxidising chemicals and aggressive process fluids where long-term corrosion resistance is important.

Types of Hastelloy Forged Fittings

Our range of Hastelloy forged fittings includes elbows, tees, crosses, couplings, unions, caps, plugs, bushings, reducers, pipe nipples and swage nipples. These fittings are used in process piping systems for branch connections, pipe size reduction, direction changes and end connections in high-pressure lines. Hastelloy forged fittings are available in both socket weld and threaded designs depending on the piping layout and service requirement.

Mechanical Properties of Hastelloy Forged Fittings

Hastelloy forged fittings offer good mechanical strength, toughness and corrosion resistance for demanding industrial service. These nickel-based alloys maintain structural stability in corrosive and elevated-temperature environments, which makes them suitable for process piping systems handling aggressive chemicals under pressure. Mechanical properties vary depending on the grade, heat treatment condition and product form, but both Hastelloy C22 and C276 are widely used where corrosion resistance is more critical than the strength offered by conventional stainless steel fittings.

Pressure Classes Available in Hastelloy Forged Fittings

Hastelloy forged fittings are available in Class 2000, 3000, 6000 and 9000 pressure ratings depending on fitting type and end connection. Threaded forged fittings are commonly supplied in Class 2000, 3000 and 6000, while socket weld forged fittings are generally available in Class 3000, 6000 and 9000. Pressure class selection depends on the design pressure, operating temperature and service conditions of the piping system.

Socket Weld & Threaded Hastelloy Forged Fittings

Hastelloy forged fittings are available in socket weld and threaded configurations for small-bore high-pressure piping systems. Socket weld fittings are commonly used where a compact, permanently welded connection is preferred, while threaded fittings are often selected for smaller lines where assembly, maintenance or replacement may be required. Depending on project requirements, threaded fittings can be supplied with NPT, BSP or BSPT threads.
